Cassandra meanwhile (back in the 20th Century), has found Skrull activity on Earth as far back as 1947, contradicting Ambassador Zorn's peace mission, she decides to find out more in the past. At the same time Fred, Autumn and Truth MacRae are on their way back from a rock concert when they are mugged, they Black Fox deals with the muggers and gets verbal abuse from Fred - Truth is impressed.

The Black Fox returns to the Foxhole and changes back into Robert Paine. He enters his house to find Pixie waiting for him, she says she was checking out the old Headquarters when a call came in from Agent Colby - the Black Fox and Pixie head for Washington D.C.. They meet up with Agent Colby who shows them a film - one of the people in the film is invisible - they realise Nocturne is back and head off to Petralova to find him.

In Petralova, the Black Fox and Pixie go to meet Agent Groza, but find him dead - they are disturb by the local Police and rescued by Dr. Strange. Strange talks about the tomb of Diablo and about Diablo himself so the three join up and head of to the castle.

When they arrive at the castle they split up, Pixie is the first into the castle and enters the tomb, she is about to free Diablo when Nocturne uses his powers to control her. The Black Fox is trying to get into the castle whilst this is going on and his mind wanders back to his first meeting with Nocturne in Chicago (when Nocturne murdered his girlfriend Miriam), he then enters the castle.

Pixie wakes up to find she can't move, and that Nocturne should stop playing the vampire. He reveals that he really is a vampire, and he is just about to turn Pixie into a vampire when he is attacked by the Black Fox. The Black Fox frees Pixie, but is attacked by Nocturne.

Dr. Strange destroys a wall pouring sunlight on the vampire, but nothing happens. Nocturne has been using Diablo's potions and is now partially living again, Pixie sees her chance and tries her pixie-dust on him - whereas it didn't work when he was totally undead it does now and Nocturne's arm is turned to stone.

Nocturne escapes but before he does so he opens Diablo's tomb, Dr. Strange closes the tomb and the entrance to the castle but the Black Fox isn't happy that Nocturne has escaped. Pixie says not to worry as he'll come looking for them and reveals Nocturne's stone arm.
