Synopsis: Dr. Cassandra Locke (a historian from the 22nd Century) arrives at the Watcher's base on the Blue Area of the Moon whereupon she meet Uatu the Watcher. He informs her that he brought her to his home to witness the death of a generation of heroes and villians - the "lost generation". Uatu also informs Cassandra that the nature of her time travel is such that she is drawn to moments of historical significance. Cassandra and Uatu look out upon the surface of the moon and see space craft crashed into the surface, and monitor screens that show her a first glimpse of the heroes and villians which history would forget.

Cassandra cannot believe that these heroes and villains were fighting Skrulls as the first historical recording of Skrulls in the 20th Century was after the founding of the Fantastic Four - an event that wouldn't happen for a few more years. She begs Uatu to do something, but he declines saying that interference is forbidden - she reminds him that he has interfered before, but then realises that this too won't happen for a few years.

Cassandra decides to do something and makes a spatial jump onto a Skrull battleship, she materializes next to the body of a female Skrull, she bends over the body and realises the Skrull is dead. Whilst leaning over the body she is attacked by Yeti, Cassandra remembers something about Yeti and a female Skrull from the fragmented records she has been researching. She is in pain and deduces that Yeti has broken her ribs.

Nightingale arrives and recognises Cassandra. Nightingale uses her powers to heal Cassandra, once healed she reveals to Cassandra that she is an empath but the stress of the pain and death all around her kills her. Before she dies Nightingale apologises for not heeding Cassandra's warning. Cassandra realises that the warning in Nightingale's past must be in her future.

On another part of the Skrull battleship the Atlantean warrior Mako is fighting alongside the Knight Templar (just out of retirement) and his son (and sidekick) Squire. Mako was bred for fighting and due to her Atlantean physiology is no match for the Skrulls. The Knight Templar has his head blown off by a Skrull disruptor, in shock Squire attacks another Skrull only to be killed by a blaster shot to the chest. Mako gets a bezerker rage and furiously carries on killing Skrulls. The Skrulls defeat her by blowing her out the nearest airlock killing her.

Elsewhere on the Skrull battleship Oxbow and Pixie fight three Skrulls who Pixie petrifies with her 'pixie dust'. Oxbow uses a concussion shaft arrow to open some internal doors whereupon they discover the injured body of the Black Fox. The Black Fox informs them that Effigy is just down the corridor and that they should leave him - Oxbow says he will send Nightingale to the Black Fox if he finds her (not knowing that she is dead by now).

Gadfly arrives on the scene to find a dying Black Fox - as he dies she unmasks him and discovers that he is Robert Paine, she kisses him and whilst doing so a shot in the back by a Skrull. Walkabout rips open a bulkhead and is damaged by blaster fire from the same Skrull. Walkabout reports back to Professor Carmody about the damage to the Walkabout unit when Nocturne appears and decides to settle an old score by smashing Carmody's life-support unit. As he is dying Carmody is unable to stop the Skrull's blaster from overloading killing them all when it explodes.

Cassandra is making her way through the Skrull vessel and encounters Mr. Justice, but before they can properly talk he too gets shot in the back by a Skrull. She continues her journey watching characters like Riot-Act and Flatiron get vapourised until she reaches Effigy, Oxbow and Pixie. Effigy is shot in the back by a Skrull soldier and reverts back to his original form - that of a Skrull. Oxbow fights the Skrulls to save time for Pixie to throw the switch on the phase-shifters. As Pixie is about to do this Cassandra tries to stop her, realising she needs more time Cassandra decides to go further back in time.

Pixie throws the switch and the entire Skrull fleet along with the 'Lost Generation' of heroes and villians are killed, this is watched by Uatu and Dr. Strange who talk about the next generation of heroes Uatu's machines scanned in Cassandra's mind.
